The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has invited dance historian and DO40 Member Kevin Winkler to create a presentation for their series, The Dance Historian Is In. While the series has been running for some time, this will be the first presentation to focus on a musical theater choreographer.

The program will celebrate the artistry of Tommy Tune, showcasing performance footage from the Library’s film and video collections. Tune was much more than a choreographer—he was also a brilliant director and a consummate performer—and the presentation will highlight his extraordinary contributions across all aspects of theater.

This online Zoom event takes place at 1:00 PM EST on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The event is free, with no limit on attendance, but registration is required.

Audiences can look forward to rarely seen clips from every era of Tune’s long and fabulous career. Don’t miss this chance to salute a truly great artist.
